The presidential candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has reiterated his pledge to roll out measures that will help address youth unemployment.
Addressing a rally at Kpando in the Volta Region, the Vice President stated that his new administration will create one million jobs if elected as Ghana’s president.
He explained that his hob creation agenda will be hinged on equipping the nation’s youth with essential digital skills.
This, he argued, will empower them to compete in the global economy, regardless of their educational backgrounds.
He said that addressing youth unemployment was top on the list of issues he will tackle when elected.
He maintained that empowering young people with the tools and knowledge to access the growing digital economy is key to solving Ghana’s unemployment challenge.
“All the youth, we need jobs. I am going to give one million youths digital skills in Ghana. Everybody, even if you are a school dropout, we can give you digital skills.
“You will stay in Kpando and work in America, in Germany, in Japan, in the UK, and in the US. Work right from here with your digital skills.”
