Akufo-Addo’s record is one of pure incompetence, mismanagement, and unprecedented corruption—NDC MP

Member of Parliament for Banda, Ahmed Ibrahim, has criticized the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for its alleged disconnect from the Ghanaian people.

He attributed the country’s economic struggles to the government’s incompetence, mismanagement, and corruption.

Mr. Ibrahim advocated for a change in leadership, stating that the NPP’s failures warrant their removal from power.

He predicted electoral defeat for the NPP due to their mismanagement and questioned the government’s denial of the impending loss.

Honourable Ibrahim reflected on President Akufo-Addo’s initial promises and warned of the consequences of his haste.

Regarding the parliamentary disputes, Mr. Ibrahim condemned the NPP MPs’ partisan tactics and emphasized the need to address internal leadership issues.

The recall of parliament, he argued, requires resolving fundamental problems rather than mere political posturing.

“When you examine the way the NPP is mismanaging the country and their level of incompetence being exhibited, they will lose the elections. They are aware of the impending defeat. It is rather unfortunate that they are pretending that all was well. When Akufo-Addo took over, he told us he was in a hurry, and we warned him to tread cautiously because, per the direction he was heading, he would crash the country. Because he had 63 MPs more than the NDC in his first time, he pushed everything through parliament without considering its negative impact on the country.

The government is aware the country is in a dire situation, and the government knows the elections would go in their favour, and so they are doing everything possible to mess up the country,” he said.
