A 22-year-old man was fatally assaulted in Kambali, a suburb of Wa municipality, after being caught stealing a goat.
The community had been plagued by persistent livestock theft, and upon catching the perpetrator red-handed, they took the law into their own hands, resulting in his death.
His accomplice fled the scene. The Wa police have deposited the body at the regional mortuary for further investigation.
According to Nhyiraba Rex on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM’s Nyankonton Mu Nsem, the police are investigating the incident.
The deceased’s family has requested authorities to release the body for burial in accordance with Islamic customs.
