The police are investigating the alleged sale of a two-week-old baby for GH¢300 in Nkotompo, a community within the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region.
According to emerging details, the mother, 35-year-old Mena Efua, handed over her newborn to an unknown individual who claimed they could find a buyer.
According to reports, Efua’s elder sister, Maame Esi, revealed the information during a media interview.
Maame Esi, who had helped with the baby’s home delivery a few weeks before, became suspicious following the child’s sudden absence.
“I helped her deliver at home last Monday, and the baby is now missing. When confronted, she admitted to giving the child to someone in exchange for GH¢300, but refuses to reveal who the person is,” Maame Esi recounted.
