Voting for Mahama’s return will undo the NPP’s unprecedented achievements – Minister

Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Minister of Communications and Digitisation, has urged Ghanaians not to vote for former President John Dramani and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) because they will undo the accomplishments gained by the current New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The minister boasted that the government’s efforts in digitalisation are producing beneficial outcomes.

In an interview with Rainbowradioonline.com, the Minister stated that when NPP took office in 2017, they focused on modernising the Ghanaian economy through digitalisation, and the results have been wonderful.

Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful argued that the agenda has helped in improving the delivery of public services by minimising human contact as much as possible.

”After nearly eight years at the ministry, I can confidently declare that we have seen unprecedented progress. We were able to extend coverage to areas with connectivity. We have transformed the industry to the point where people can transact business using their mobile devices. Ghanaians can seek healthcare using their devices. You can learn from your phones. These initiatives were not available before we took over the office. We have transformed the sector and accomplished a great deal thanks to President Akufo-Addo’s leadership and the support of Dr. Bawumia.

The Ablekuma West Member of Parliament stated that the “digitalisation drive has seen the successful implementation of a national biometric identification system, a property address system, mobile money interoperability between all telephone networks and financial institutions, digitisation of government services at the DVLA, passport offices, NHIS services, port operations, and delivery of essential drugs via drones.” Sellers of waakye, gobe, kenkey, and other items can sell them online. We’re not done yet. There is much more to do. When we took office, cyber security was at 32%, but we are now at 99.27%. We’ve made strides, and we deserve another chance to protect and preserve those gains.

We are appealing to Ghanaian voters to vote massively for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. The NDC fought against these initiatives, and if we vote them back, they will work against these things. They lack the competence and skills in managing the country, and so we should not vote them back. We should not make the mistake of voting them back,’’ she added.
