The New Patriotic Party’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, highlighted the Akufo-Addo government’s remarkable job creation record, surpassing previous administrations.
Dr. Bawumia cited data from SSNIT and other sources, indicating around 2.6 million jobs created.
He said the jobs they have created include 1.4 million private sector and 1.2 million public sector positions.
This achievement demonstrates the government’s dedication to strengthening Ghana’s economy and enhancing opportunities for citizens.
Dr. Bawumia further pledged to continue driving job creation if elected in the December elections.
“We have done a remarkable job in creating jobs in the last seven years, indeed so far, as of yesterday or a day before…I checked the data from SSNIT and other sources and so far, between 2017 and 2024, the latest data is that we have created 2.6 million jobs.
“1.4 in the private sector and 1.2 in the public sector. This is the highest of any government in the 4th Republic and the highest job creation. We have more to do because we still have high unemployment. Our youth still need jobs.”
