The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has declared a nationwide strike beginning November 7 due to the government’s delay in finalising a new salary structure.
CLOGSAG initiated the strike action due to the government’s failure to implement the proposed salary structure, despite a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) reached one and a half years ago.
According to a statement issued by CLOGSAG’s Executive Secretary, Isaac Bampoe Addo, the January 1, 2025 implementation date is now considered unrealistic.
“As a result of the long delay in the completion of a New Salary Structure and other Conditions of Service for the Staff of Civil Service and Local Government Service, the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) has no than to ask our members to stay at home on Thursday, November 7th.”
