The Electoral Commission (EC) has reiterated its commitment to conducting error-free elections to uphold public trust and democratic values.
The electoral body has therefore announced its decision to recruit professionals to help it organise this year’s parliamentary and presidential elections.
Dubbed a strategic recruitment initiative, the EC seeks to recruit over 200 professionals with expertise in mathematics, statistics, and related quantitative fields.
This the EC posited will ensure credibility and reliability of the election results.
Speaking in a media interview, Dr. Eric Bossman Asare, the EC’s Deputy Chairperson, said the EC remains committed to transparency and accuracy in the upcoming elections.
He noted that the newly recruited specialists are competent with analytical skills to support precise data collation, vote tabulation, and statistical analysis.
“The Commission has already recruited over 280,000 individuals who are going to work on this election. We have also recruited people who are going to help with the collaboration.“These are people who have a background in mathematics, actuarial science, and statistics and will be assisting with quantitative methods. So they are going to assist the returning officers at the constituency level.”
