He told Rainbow Radio’s Prince Collins Bening in an interview that the government had put in place measures that will ensure that farmers get better returns on their investment.

The DCE made the remarks while speaking with the reporter on the sidelines of the farmers day celebration held at Danso in the Adeiso district on Friday, November 8, 2024.

He indicated that the farmers day celebration was crucial because it helped in recognising their sacrifices and contributions to the growth of the economy.

“We applaud and honour our farmers’ sacrifices. I’ll be particularly proud of our district’s farmers. They have done tremendously well for the district. The district is known for its massive investment in agriculture. One of our farmers, who manages Sammens Coconut Resort in the Upper West Akim District, was named Best District two years ago, but as I speak with you, he has been named Regional Best Farmer for the year.

The Regional Best Disability Farmer for this year is also from our district. Clearly, this shows that we are the best in terms of farming. We will encourage our farmers to continue doing their best to ensure that we get more food for Ghanaians. The government will also continue investing in agriculture so that our farmers will get good returns on their yields. We are also supporting them with fame inputs and other initiatives to make their farming much easier and beneficial,” he added.
