Nana Owusu Achiaw Brempong, from the Ashanti Region’s Sekyere Central district, has been named the country’s best farmer in 2024.11.9
The 70-year-old man started farming about 50 years ago.
He owns North American farms with 168 employees cultivating a variety of crops such as cocoa and cashew.
He received one million Ghana cedis as part of his award for best farmer overall.
During his acceptance speech at the Farmers Day celebration on November 8, the National Best Farmer called for increased efforts to improve food security.
Farmers Day was celebrated concurrently across the country, recognising farmers for their dedication and economic contribution.
