Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on Ghanaians to vote massively for him in the next elections.
The Vice President noted that the ruling government has managed the economy more effectively, despite global economic concerns.
He stated that the COVID-19 outbreak affected people all across the world, including Ghana.
“However, the ruling government remained committed to protecting Ghanaians. We knew the COVID-19 outbreak would have a negative economic impact, but we paid all workers. Those who were frontline workers were given special allowance. The government provided support for deprived people. We gave Ghanaians free water and electricity.
It was not easy, but because protecting lives was crucial for the government, we had to do it. President Akufo-Addo had told us that we had the capacity to revive the economy and not to bring back lives. We did our best, and we have chalked some positive gains.”
He went on to state that the NPP government had done so well in the areas of education, agriculture, jobs, health, and roads, among others.
“Because of free SHS, we have used the gap between the rich and the poor. We no longer know who is rich or poor due to the free SHS policy. Despite these successes, some may forget what we have achieved. But we have to remember what this government has done. The achievements of this government have been remarkable. On December 7, Ghanaians will vote, and I am applause to you to vote massively for me to be your president and all our parliamentary candidates. We are number one on the ballot paper.”
Speaking in a recorded video played at an engagement organised on education on November 10, 2024, he said, “Let us vote for progress, continuity, and our future. If we vote for progress, this country will develop. With courage, I have outlined several policies that will move this country forward. If you support me, no matter the challenges, we will make progress. It is possible”.
