Director of Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Omane Boamah, has charged members of the party, particularly those who would be used as polling station agents, to be vigilant and dedicated to prevent any form of electoral manipulation.
Dr. Boamah said the party is poised for victory, but any form of complacency would allow for election rigging.
Using how God provided substance for them to eat every day in the form of quail (meat) and manna, he said even though God granted them the manna, he did put it in their mouth, but the Israelites had to put in efforts in eating the food.
He has therefore challenged the party to put in hard work when they are deployed to the polling stations because the party is optimistic that by 11 p.m. on December 7, it would have collated 75 percent of the national results of the valid votes cast.
‘’Manna fell from heaven for the Israelites, but God did not open their mouths for the Manna to fall in. At least, God expected some efforts from the Israelites. The same way God has granted former President John Dramani Mahama victory. It is our duty on this day to decide to build a consortium of the willing such that we will protect the votes and the ballot to ensure that only the votes that are cast will be counted and declared on December 7. And when you have done this for us, be rest assured that by 11 pm, at least 75 percent of the results, we would have collated them and let you know where we are.’’
Dr. Omane Boamah, addressing party supporters at Suhum Amponsah Market, kicked off his five-day Eastern Region campaign tour by alleging the governing New Patriotic Party plans to rig the upcoming elections, starting with special voting on December 2.
He cautioned supporters to be vigilant, as the NPP knows they are losing and have plotted to rig the election.
To ensure transparency, he advised supporters to record election results declaration processes using their mobile phones and insisted presiding officers post pink sheets of election results at polling stations as dictated by CI 127.
The parliamentary candidate for Suhum Constituency, Hon. Prince Kwadwo Addo Tabiri, confidently assured NDC supporters of an impending victory, citing tireless efforts to reclaim the seat from NPP on December 7, 2024.
