The National Association of Institutional Suppliers (NAIS) has issued a notice to picket at the Ministry of Education from November 20 to 21, demanding a clear plan for settling all unpaid contracts.
On November 12, 2024, the Association submitted a statement to the Ghana Police Service’s Regional Commander in Accra regarding their planned action.
NAIS expressed dissatisfaction with outstanding payments for contracts related to the supply of school uniforms and house dresses.Tourism packages
According to the Association, members have yet to receive payments for arrears from 2022-2023, as well as full payments for the 2023-2024 school year.
Attempts to resolve these outstanding payments have apparently received little response from the Ministry.
NAIS also expressed concerns about the Ministry’s possible plans to exclude its members from future contracts for school uniforms and house dresses.
It noted that the exclusion would undermine the promotion of local content—a commitment the government has advocated for—and hinder local employment, skill development, and the growth of Ghana’s textile and fashion industries.Tourism packages
