The Electoral Commission (EC) has informed political parties and independent candidates contesting the elections of plans to reprint all ballot papers distributed to the Volta and Ahafo Regions due to incorrect serial numbers.
The electoral body informed the political parties of this at an emergency Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on November 15.
According to the EC, both presidential and parliamentary ballot papers for these two regions will be reprinted.
Speaking at the meeting, Samuel Tettey, the Deputy Chairman of Operations at the Electoral Commission, said: “Over the last few weeks, some concerns have been raised with the serialisation of the Ballot Papers for Ahafo and Volta Regions.
“While the printing of the Ballot Papers has gone down very well, the challenge faced by the Commission has been the serialisation of the numbers on the Ballot Papers.
“The Commission has seriously taken action to cure the defects and has deployed teams to the printing house to correct the anomalies.
“The commission has taken a decision to recall the Ballot Papers for Ahafo and the Volta regions. The Commission has decided that the two ballots will now be printed by Bulk and Acts Commercials for presidential and parliamentary.”
