Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has taken a swipe at former President John Dramani Mahama.
The Vice President says the current administration has made significant gains in the education sector compared to the record of his main contender.
Speaking to supporters in the Northern Region on November 21, 2024, Dr. Bawumia said the then Mahama-led administration could not even paint schools with chalk while under this government laptops have been distributed to students.
This, he argued, represents progress in the education sector.
He has therefore appealed to voters to vote massively for him in the December 7 general elections.
“This election is about who can bring about the change Ghana needs, and I am sure that I am the better option for our nation’s future.”
There was no chalk in schools during his time. For the schoolchildren, we are purchasing tablets. Each child will receive one. Nobody will be excluded. Even teachers’ laptops are being purchased by us. We are purchasing it for educators ranging from elementary school to high school.
