North Tongu Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has reacted to the report released by the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) surrounding the National Cathedral project.
According to the MP, the procurement breaches raise reasonable suspicion of corruption and corruption-related offences.
Mr. Ablakwa described the findings as intriguing but expressed shock at the failure of CHRAJ to look into the alleged double identity of Rev. Kusi Boateng.
In a Facebook post, he wrote, ‘’Strangely, CHRAJ failed to seriously look into the double identity conduct of Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng/Kwabena Adu Gyamfi despite overwhelming evidence placed before it and despite a high court judgement on the matter.”.
One thing is clear: Akufo-Addo’s National Cathedral project stands exposed as a blasphemously grand create, loot, and share scheme whose perpetrators CHRAJ insist must be prosecuted.’’

Intriguing findings from CHRAJ on my National Cathedral complaint:
1) The contract awarded to RIBADE by the Board of Trustees is illegal and void as it violates Ghana’s procurement laws;
2) The Board of Trustees did not seek concurrent approval from the Central Tender Review Committee;
3) The procurement breaches raise reasonable suspicion of corruption and corruption related offences;
4) The Board of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) should intervene to cancel the contract for the construction of the National Cathedral between the National Cathedral and RIBADE company as it has the power to do so under the Procurement Act;
5) The Commission recommends for further investigation and possible prosecution of the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral who superintended over the award of the contract to RIBADE company in disregard to Act 663 as amended;
6) Strangely, CHRAJ failed to seriously look into the double identity conduct of Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng/Kwabena Adu Gyamfi despite overwhelming evidence placed before it, and despite a high court judgement on the matter.
One thing is clear — Akufo-Addo’s National Cathedral project stands exposed as a blasphemously grand create, loot and share scheme whose perpetrators CHRAJ insists must be prosecuted.
For God and Country.
