Fire has destroyed several wooden structures at Agbogbloshie, Old Fadama, near Borla Top Down.
The Ghana National Fire Service said it received information about the fierce fire at 9:38 PM Sunday, November 24, 2024, in the night.
According to the service, two (2) fire pumps were dispatched from the Accra City and Circle Fire Stations, with the first arriving at the scene at 9:48 PM.
The fire had already engulfed several makeshift wooden structures and was spreading rapidly in all directions, it disclosed.
It stated that despite challenging access to the fire’s seat, the tactical team brought the blaze under control at 12:54 AM and fully extinguished it at 1:38 AM, Monday, November 25, 2024 morning.
‘’While numerous wooden structures and their contents were destroyed, firefighters successfully salvaged several adjoining structures. Thankfully, no injuries or fatalities were recorded. Kudos to the team for their swift and effective response,’’ the GNFS said in a Facebook post.
