Nana Addo is leaving the NPP divided and destroyed – Kwesi Korang

November 27, 2024
korang

Founder and leader of Patriot Ghana, a group affiliated with the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwesi Korang, says President Akufo-Addo is leaving power with the elephant family divided, divided, and destroyed.

He posited that the president has destroyed the party and left it in a terrible position compared to where President Kufour left it.

Kwesi Korang indicated that it is rather unfortunate that the party, which was once vibrant, is no longer a party of choice.

He stated that the party sacrificed a lot for President Akufo-Addo, and yet, under his watch, he has failed the teg party.

“The party sacrificed a lot for him. He was appointed a minister. The party filed him as a candidate three times. There is no other form of pampering bigger than this level of sacrifice. For a political party to file someone three times before he wins shows the party sacrificed for him. We had other qualified candidates who could have been better options for the NPP, but we still filed him as our presidential candidate.
At the time he selected Baeunia as his running mate, he was not a member of the NPP.

Bawumia and his family members were all known NDC members. And yet, Akufo-Addo insisted that he was the one who he wanted as his running mate. Some senior members of the party opposed this and declared that it would be over their dead bodies for someone whose father betrayed the NPP and its tradition and led some of our people, like Haruna Eseku, to go to prison to be our running mate. But Akufo-Addo settled on him.”

He made the remarks in an interview with Kwabena Agyapong on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM.
He was responding to concerns raised by some members about Alan Kyerematen and his decision to resign from the party.

He said the major reason why Alan left was due to an unfair and skewed process to elect Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the party’s presidential candidate.
