Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Samuel Nartey George, has claimed that a vote for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is a vote for homosexuality; hence, voters must vote massively against him in the December 7 elections.
The MP, who is one of the sponsors of the anti-LGBTQI+ bill, slammed the ruling government for failing to have the president sign the bill into law.
He alleged that a vote for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP in the December 7 elections represents support for homosexuality and policies that undermine Ghanaian cultural and family values.
Speaking at the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) final rally at Zurak Park in Madina on Thursday, December 5, 2024, he asserted that Ghanaians must vote massively for the NDC’s candidate, John Dramani Mahama, because he is a true defender of Ghana’s cultural heritage and moral values.
Sam George warned that voting for the NPP would threaten Ghana’s traditions and beliefs due to their lenient stance on LGBTQ+ issues. He expressed confidence that an NDC government would sign a bill into law to solidify Ghana’s opposition to foreign values.
“On Saturday, as we go to the polls, we vote for one reason, which is the reset of Ghana. A vote for John Dramani Mahama is a vote to protect our culture and our family values. A vote for Bawumia and NAPO is a vote for homosexuality. A vote for comprehensive sexuality education, and Ghanaians must say no.”
“We need Mahama to come and sign the bill into law. If you love the children of Ghana, if you love our family values, and you love your faith, vote against the NPP.”
