President Akufo-Addo has asked Ghanaians to trust in the Electoral Commission (EC) in organising free, fair, and transparent elections in the December 7 presidential elections.
The President opined that the EC is now a much more efficient and transparent institution that has been entrusted to hold the upcoming elections.
He appealed to the Ghanaian public to trust and cooperate with the EC in organising a credible election that will reflect the will of the people.
Mr. Akufo-Addo made the appeal when he delivered a national address ahead of tomorrow’s general elections.
He indicated that we have a good reason to be proud of the Electoral Commission (EC), which is today a much more efficient and transparent institution that we are ready to entrust with the responsibility of delivering a free, fair, and transparent election that will truly reflect the will of the people.
‘’I urge all of us to cooperate with the electoral officials to do their work and ensure that we can all be proud of having added another notch to the list of successful elections we have held.’’
He also expressed confidence in the National Security Taskforce, led by the Inspector General of Police, to ensure that the elections are conducted peacefully.
He stated that the security agencies, led by the police service, have completed all necessary deployments and preparations to ensure the nation’s peace, law, and order before, during, and after the elections.
