Nana Frimpomaa Sarpong Kumankumah, the presidential candidate for the Convention People’s Party (CPP), says the party has not sat down to consider whether or not the elections will go in their favour.
Speaking exclusively to Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, she said the party has good policies that can help Ghana transform, and it was their expectation that Ghanaians will vote massively for the CPP.
But in the unlikely event that the party does not secure victory, she revealed that they will evaluate all the policies of the parties and only align with those who have similar policies to the CPP and are willing to roll out some of their policies.
I can tell you this with authority. We sat down as a party to consider going left or right. But I can say that I have policies that can transform the country, and I believe must help the country. The NPP and NDC have ruled us for over 32 years, and yet, they have failed miserably at rolling out policies that can transform Ghana.
So if there is a runoff and I have taken the decision in supporting any party and I believe my party members will do the same, I think we will consider a party that would be there to come out with some of the policies we have come out with. We will support a party with a policy that will change the economic order of the country.”
She said there was the need for a holistic transformation across all sectors of the economy, including agriculture, to give farmers better living conditions.
The candidate said the CPP is looking forward to a Ghana where the people are central to everything.
She added that Ghana is at a pace that is now scary, and we need policies that are human-centred, that have the welfare of citizens at heart, and, most importantly, give people the opportunity to hold leaders accountable.
