National Communication Officer for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has told party agents and supporters that it is too early for them to jubilate.
Addressing journalists, he said polling agents and supporters of the party are supposed to accompany the EC officials together with the electoral materials, especially the ballot box, to the various collation centres.
He warned that it was too early to celebrate the results; hence they should remain calm and ensure that until the results have been declared, they should remain vigilant.
He charged them to make their way to the various constituency coalition centres to prevent all forms of rigging.
Sammy Gyamfi noted that the agents have a responsibility to protect their votes.
He said the presidential candidate of the party has instructed the party members to stop the jubilation until results are duly collated at the collation centres, declared, and the results forms are duly filled and signed by party agents and the NDC agents are given copies of the results.
He maintained that when the results are declared and the agents have had copies of the results, they should not be jubilant.
Sammy Gyamfi added that the NPP is separate and vicious at rigging the elections and activated their rigging mechanisms to their full length.
He said they would try snatching ballot papers, swapping pick sheets, and using their things to manipulate the outcome of the results.
“Let’s all remain vigilant. This is not the time for celebration. We all know the outcome, and the time for celebrating that outcome will soon come. But for now, we need to work and remain vigilant.”
