Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has cast his ballot in the ongoing presidential and parliamentary elections.
Dr. Bawumia voted at the Kperiga D/A Primary School polling station in his hometown, Walewale, in the North East Region, around 8:00 am.
He was wearing a white fugu over a pair of trousers.
He arrived at the polling station, went through the verification process, and was handed the ballots for the presidential and parliamentary elections.
He was accompanied by some officials of the party and his campaign team members.
At the voting centre, some persons were heard shouting, ‘Incoming President’, Insha Allah, this is the incoming president.
Bawumia is an economist known for championing digitalisation and financial reforms.
He holds degrees from Buckingham University, Oxford, and Simon Fraser University and has had an illustrious career in academia, banking, and governance.
