Voting in the Flame of Wisdom Polling Station in the Ablekuma North Constituency has been suspended after the biometric device being used for the polls broke down.
Reporting from the polling station, Rainbow Radio’s reporter, Danny Fii Abrantie, revealed that voting started and one individual managed to cast the ballot.
However, the biometric device failed to work, forcing officials to suspend voting at the polling station.
The electoral officer at the station, Joseph Apprey, confirmed this to our reporter and revealed efforts were underway to rectify the situation.
‘’The electoral officer confirmed to me that the device is not working. They have made attempts to restart it, but it has failed to work. He has, however, assured the voters that efforts were underway to repair the machine.
Some voters who were in line to vote also told him they had been told the machine was no longer working and were expecting it would be repaired for voting to resume.
He added that approximately 700 registered voters are expected to vote at the polling station, and at the time of filing the report, more than 100 voters were waiting in queue to cast their ballot.
