Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Awutu Senya East in the Central Region, Madam Anita Love Obo Amissah, has encouraged all eligible voters to turn out massively in their numbers and vote in the ongoing presidential and parliamentary elections.
She refuted allegations that soldiers had been deployed to intimidate voters in the area.
She has therefore assured the voters to come out in their numbers and cast their ballot.
The MCE stated that the ongoing electoral process will be smooth without any challenge or any violence.
According to her, the security agencies in the area are committed to ensuring that persons who have planned anything violent will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
’I want to encourage all eligible voters to come out in their numbers and vote. Ignore the false claims. If you fail to vote, some others will vote for some candidates, and you will have nothing to say about it. There is peace in the various polling stations. The security officers are here to maintain law and order,’’ she added.
As chair of the municipal security council, she said efforts have been deployed in ensuring that the process in the constituency is smooth, denying bringing the military to intimidate people.
‘’Those who are making these claims want to create tension. Ignore the fake news. They are trying to create confusion. Why should we even use the military in intimidating people when our work speaks for us? So it is not true that I have deployed land guards or soldiers. When that happens, it creates tension and prevents people from participating in the voting exercise. I am assuring the voters that all is well and so they should come out and vote.”
