The Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) in charge of operations, Samuel Tettey, has revealed that voting started at exactly 7 am in 99% of all the polling stations across the country.
Speaking at a press conference to update the public on the progress of the electoral process, he said a few polling stations were delayed, but the issues have been resolved.
“We are pleased to announce that 99% of polling stations began voting promptly at 7 am, demonstrating our commitment to a seamless electoral process,” he stated.
According to him, enough security officials have been deployed to the various polling stations to maintain law and order.
He stated that the collaboration between the Electoral Commission and the security agencies has been smooth.
He advised all eligible voters to remain patient and adhere to the rules and guidelines at polling stations.
