The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Kwesimintsim Constituency in the Western Region, Dr. Prince Hamid Armah, has lost his seat.
He was defeated in the parliamentary election by the National Democratic Congress’ Philip Fiifi Buckman.
The MP is the Deputy Minister for Works and Housing.
He served as the Director General of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) and polled 13,317 votes against Mr. Fiifi Buckman’s 15,927 votes.
An independent parliamentary candidate polled 1,835 votes.
The total valid votes cast is 31,079, with 219 rejected ballots.
He is currently Vice Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Education and a member of the House Committee.
