Janet Asana Nabla, who did not qualify as an independent presidential candidate for Election 2024, has said the unprecedented defeat of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is an endorsement against incompetence and impunity.
She said the people of Ghana are not happy at how the government has managed the country.
Janet Nabla opined that the outcome of the elections shows that Ghanaians are not happy with happy because they have disappointed us.
“Ghanaians feel disappointed in the NPP but could not use guns to oust them, and so, they waited patiently for the elections to vote them out. They have voted for the NDC. The will of the people is the will of God. The people say they prefer the NSC, and we have no problem with that as PNP.”
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, she revealed that she has congratulated the President-elect before his victory, which was divisive.
She commended Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for conceding defeat ahead of the official declaration by the Electoral Commission.
She said that was unheard of and unprecedented for a candidate to accept defeat ahead of an official declaration.
“I have congratulated former President John Dramani Mahama for winning and also commended Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. What he did was unheard of. For someone to concede defeat when the EC was yet to declare the results is commendable. Accepting the defeat was good, but it has helped in minimising the contest.”
