Deputy Director of Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Rashid Tanko-Computer, has revealed that the party invested a lot in training its human resources that helped in collating its results.
He said judging from previous elections, they learnt their lessons and had to work towards protecting the ballot.
”We made certain we were not shortchanged. It wasn’t simple. “We knew we had a herculean task and worked towards it,” he said.
Speaking on Rainbow Radio, 87.5 FM He said that human resources were critical, so we trained the party agents about a year ago. We also got professional help. Without human resources, you can invest in machines but get nothing done.
In terms of human resources, we had lawyers, accountants, and other professionals who assisted us in achieving our goals.
He revealed that the party had finished collating its results by 11:30 p.m. on December 7, and that John Dramani Mahama had won the presidential election.
“As of 11:30 p.m. on December 7, we had received over 39,000 to 40,000 results.” We collated the results from these polling stations and received 56% of the votes. “It helped us a lot,” he added.
