Presidential candidate for the Convention People’s Party (CPP) in the 2020 Ghanaian general election, Ivor Greenstreet, has stated that the most important thing for us to do now is to prioritise our country following the successful organisation of the elections.
He said although there may be some individuals who would not be excited about the outcome, we have to forge ahead and unite in making the country progress.
Speaking on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM, he said, Whatever that prompted our citizens to take the decision they took, we should respect and be happy with it.
‘’Some of us don’t like it; some of us like it. The bottom line is this is the system we have chosen, and we will continue to thrive if we treat each other as brothers and sisters and continue in progress,” he told host Kwabena Agyapong.
He stated that the elections and the overall process were generally successful, and that we should be proud of ourselves.
When asked about the current state of the CPP, he said,’’From time to time, institutions and organisations have their difficulties and problems… From time to time, there would always be difficulties, but over a period of time, I know we will overcome them, and we will try and develop a system that will bring results to the people of Ghana’.
He added that the only point of democracy is to develop this country and bring progress to the people, and if we are unable to do that, there is no point in doing that.
He expressed hope that as we move forward in the coming year, freedom and justice, as well as the tenets of our constitution and what we want to do as a people to provide better opportunities for all Ghanaians, wherever they live, will be achieved.
