President Akufo-Addo has, in accordance with Section 1 (1) of the Transition Act, appointed members of the transition team.
A statement issued by Director of Communications at the Presidency Eugene Arhin explained that the team will be officially inaugurated on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
President Akufo-Addo has delegated Chief of Staff Madam Frema Opare to act as co-chairperson in the absence of the President.
The President has also, in accordance with the law, appointed former Speaker Mike Oquaye to the advisory.
Speaker Alban Bagbin will chair the Advisory Council.
The team is the Attorney General, the minister responsible for presidential affairs, the minister responsible for finance, the minister responsible for the interior, the minister responsible for defence, the minister responsible for foreign affairs, the minister responsible for local government, and the minister responsible for national security.
The persons holding the positions are Godfred Yeboah Dame and Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu.Hon. Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, Hon. Henry Quartey, the Head of Civil Service—Dr. Evans Aggrey-Darkoh, Hon. Dominic Nitiwul, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey. Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah and Hon. Albert Kan Dapaah.
“Additionally, in line with Section 1 (2) of the Act, the team shall include the following individuals: The Head of the Local Government Service, Dr. Nana Ato Arthur, The Secretary to the Cabinet, Ambassador Mercy Debrah-Karikari, and the National Security Coordinator, Mr. Edward Asomani.”
