The Paramount Chief of Tepa, Nana Adusei Atwenewah Ampem I, has called an emergency meeting with his elders and subjects in response to the violent incidents that occurred in the area following the 2024 general elections.
The Chief and his elders are expected to devise a comprehensive strategy to restore peace and stability to the Ashanti Region’s Ahafo Ano North constituency.
Some people stormed and set fire to a facility at Tepa Senior High School that housed ballot materials for the presidential and parliamentary elections on December 7.
A radio station in the neighbourhood owned by the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate was also targeted.
The protesters allegedly looted the station and a nearby warehouse.
