Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has taken Alexander Afenyo-Markin to the cleaners over the latter’s allegations that the NDC leadership has armed party thugs with machetes and guns to attack NPP members.
At a press conference on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, the Majority Leader of the outgoing parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, urged the NDC leadership to immediately rein in their supporters after he accused them of attacking NPP MPs and other officials.
“I would like to call on His Excellency John Dramani Mahama to speak to his party members. This is not democracy, this is not the democracy we all worked hard for. The hypocrisy is becoming too clear, day in, day out,” he said.
But reacting to this, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah posited that the Majority lacks the capacity to lecturer the NDC about the rule of law.
He said if the NDC needs anyone to lecture them on impunity, then they will call him because he lacks any idea about democracy.
He has therefore asked him to shut up on the matters of democracy.
‘’I’ve heard my junior brother Afenyo-Markin who having rejected the position of Minority leader is now on his way to becoming a micro-Minority leader. Bragging that he belongs to a party of rule of law and all that. Who doesn’t know about NPP? We in the NDC don’t need lectures from Afenyo-Markin about democracy at all. Indeed if there were any need for lectures in impunity, then we will invite him as our lecturer but if it is about democracy, he must shup up,’’ he said at a press conference on Friday, December 13, 2024.”
