A deputy ranking member on the Education Committee of Parliament, Dr. Clement Apaak, has asked the Ghanaian public to ignore assertions that President-elect John Dramani Mahama will scrap the free Senior High School policy if he is sworn in as president.
The Builsa South Member of Parliament, who served as the campaign spokesperson on education for Mr. Mahama, assured the public that a Mahama-led administration will improve the policy.
He stated that the incoming administration will also sustain the policy and make it far better than how it is being implemented by the Nana Addo-led administration.
He noted that the commitment of Mr. Mahama in improving the policy is captured in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto.
To this end, he has asked the public to ignore the false claims being spread by individuals and groups.
Read his statement below
Ghanaians should trust, and be assured, that John Dramani Mahama will improve and sustain FSHS for the good of Ghana as he has promised.
Indeed, John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to improving and sustaining secondary education as captured in the 2024 NDC Manifesto is not in doubt.
As a spokesperson on education for NDC 2024 campaign, I call on Ghanaians to ignore comments and or opinions by any individual or group to the contrary.
Signed,
Dr. Clement Abas Apaak
MP/MP-Elect, Builsa South
