The Minority Leader in Parliament, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has declared that the NPP government has breached its constitutional duty under Article 180 by failing to present expenditure in advance of appropriation.
Dr. Forson conveys his disappointment and cautions the outgoing government that they will be liable for all unfulfilled commitments and obligations from January 1 to January 7, 2025.
He provides assurance to Ghanaians that the incoming NDC government will swiftly address the expenditure for the first quarter of 2025.
Additionally, the Minority Leader observes that despite the absence of a finance minister on January 7, 2025, the Vice President can present the expenditure in advance of appropriation to the House after taking the oath of office.
“There is no cause for alarm ladies and gentlemen. Even though there will be no Finance Minister on the 7th of January 2025, the vice president can present to this House the Expenditure in Advance of Appropriation.”
