Director of Electoral Services at the Electoral Commission, Nr. Benjamin Banor-Bio, has disclosed that the outfit has not been served with any court injunction to halt the recollation of parliamentary election results in nine constituencies.

The NDC announced it has secured an injunction restraining the EC from recollating the results in the disputed constituencies.

The NDC’s legal action followed growing tensions and allegations of discrepancies in the election results.

The injunction was filed to stop the Electoral Commission’s (EC) ongoing process aimed at resolving the disagreements.

But Mr. Banor-Bio has refuted the claim that the EC has not been served with any court action.

Addressing journalists at the EC regional collation centre in Accra ahead of the recollation exercise today, Saturday, December 21, 2024, he stated that “please, we will not be answering any questions, but I must tell you that we do not have knowledge of such a petition. We have not been served. As of now, we have not been served”.

He said the EC has invited all the political parties to bring along their agents, and so if any of them refuse to do so, they will still go ahead with the recollation.

He agreed that the regulation says that if an agent is not there, the exercise will still continue.
