The Electoral Commission (EC) has declared Patrick Boakye Yiadom of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the winner of the Obuasi East constituency after recollation.
The NPP’s candidate won by a 19-vote margin.
The recollation of parliamentary election results was done at the Greater Accra regional office of the EC.
The EC announced that Mr. Boakye Yiadom garnered 18,558 votes to retain his seat, defeating his closest contender, Samuel Aboagye of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who secured 18,539 votes.
An independent candidate, Adjei Owusu Afriyie, secured 424 votes.
