The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expelled 280 of its members in the Agona West constituency.
The persons who have been expelled include the party’s outgoing Member of Parliament, Cynthia Maamle Morrison, who contested and lost the seat as an independent candidate.
The party, in a statement, disclosed that the decision to expel them was in accordance with Article 39(1) of the party’s constitution.
The party said the expelled party members have been banned indefinitely from holding themselves out as members of the NPP, holding any position in the party, attending or participating in any party meetings or activities, and using any party symbol or flag.
