Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has declared that history will favour President Akufo-Addo as someone whose record is unmatched.
The Effutu Member of Parliament who has been appointed as the minority leader in the yet-to-be-inaugurated 9th Parliament posited that political expediency will not allow his critics to combat him for his achievements.
Responding to the final State of the Nation address delivered by the president on January 3, 2025, he said that maybe for some political experience, we may not appreciate what he has done for this country. But Mr. Speaker, history in its fair judgement will state that there came an Akufo-Addo whose record in the educational sector of our country was unmatched and unequalled. This is a man who is never afraid of challenges that confront him”.
He described the Agenda 111 as an ambitious policy that will revive our health sector and provide for the health needs of the many vulnerable communities that are unmatched.
He said the president and his administration have demonstrated that they have what it takes to. Keep Ghana safe, especially comparing Ghana to our neighbouring countries, adding that it has improved investments, and we must be proud of that achievement.
Democracy, he added, has experienced its best under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo.
He said Ghanaians will soon see the true colours of the umbrella, although they have promised hope and better economic management.
He assured the NDC that his side will monitor them and ensure that they have delivered on their promises.
The NPP government he lamented took over a challenging economy but kept the light on and provided free education to over 5 million beneficiaries, among other achievements.
