After the final collation of results for the Techiman South constituency, the Electoral Commission has declared Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, as the MP-elect.
The final collation was done today, Sunday, January 5, 2025, following a High Court order.
The final collation of results was conducted at the Electoral Commission’s (EC) regional office in Accra.
Mr. Korsah secured 46,663 votes, defeating Christopher Bayere Basongti of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who polled 43,429 votes.
Declaring the results, the returning officer indicated that there were some challenges with two outstanding polling stations.
But he was quick to add that even if the two polling stations are added to that of the other candidates, it will not change the results of the elections.
The total valid votes were 90,308, with 844 rejected ballots.
The total votes cast were 91,152.
The two outstanding polling stations he mentioned were DA Primary School (657 voters) and Islamic JHS, Aboaso (481 votes), making a total of 1,138 voters.
