Parliament has approved the composition of its Appointments Committee today, Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
The committee, which would be chaired by First Deputy Speaker Bernard Ahiafor, has been tasked with vetting and recommending nominees for ministerial and other key appointments.
Mr. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah will be serving as vice chairperson.
Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the minority leader, has been appointed as the ranking member, while Patricia Appiagyei will serve as the deputy ranking member.
The Majority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, commenting on the report submitted, stated that “The committee respectfully recommends to the house to adopt this report and approve the membership of the appointment and business committee as composed and the recomposition of the committees of selection based on the ratio of 183 to 88. Mister Speaker, I shall submit.”
