Political analyst Mr. Samuel Boateng believes that President John Dramani Mahama’s appointments thus far demonstrate that he means business.
He stated that the first list of ministerial nominations demonstrates that President John Dramani Mahama is looking for experienced hands rather than experiments.
He was responding to the list of minister-designate nominees for Finance, Energy, Attorney General, and the Ministry of Justice.
In an interview with Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he stated that Dr. Cassiel Forson, John Abdullai Jinpaor, and Dr. Dominic Ayine, who have been nominated for the three ministries, have the necessary experience.
He argued that people who worked as deputy ministers in these ministries under the first term of President John Dramani Mahama to be elevated or nominated to head the ministries as substantive ministers showed they conducted themselves well.
The analyst stressed that if this level of appointments continues with only competent personalities nominated, the President will perform extremely well.
”I am confident that the names nominated demonstrate President Mahama’s desire to hit the ground running. I noticed some seriousness in his first list of nominations. Typically, we do not see people with the skill set for a specific ministry appointed, though in some cases they perform admirably well. However, when you appoint someone with the necessary skills and competencies for each ministry, they will perform admirably. Drs. Forson, Jinapor, and Ayine are capable individuals who can perform in the ministries to which they have been nominated.”
He further asserted that ‘’the three personalities nominated are experienced personalities. It also shows that President Mahama wants to work with experienced hands and not experiments. It also shows that the three who worked as deputies impressed President Mahama during his first term. That is why they have been renominated’’.
