Sammi Awuku, the Director-General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), has resigned, effective January 13, 2025.
The statement was addressed to President John Dramani Mahama.
Sammi Awuku cited his election as MP for Akuapem North as the reason for his decision.
“In the light of this new responsibility, I wish to focus my efforts on serving as a Member of Parliament,” he said.
The MP further appealed to the President to appoint a replacement at the NLA to ensure a smooth transition and proper handover of responsibilities.
