The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Joseph Boahen Aidoo, has officially resigned from his position, effective January 7, 2025.
Mr. Boahen Aidoo is resigning following a directive issued on January 13, 2025, in connection with the cessation of all board memberships of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).
His renewed mandate was due to expire in July 2025.
But in a letter he addressed to President John Dramani Mahama, he is resigning to ensure a smooth transition and allow stakeholders and business partners to establish timely connections with the incoming leadership.
According to him, he remains committed to the cocoa sector and pledged his support for the transition process.
He thanked former President Akufo-Addo for appointing him to occupy the position, which he served for eight years.
“I hereby tender my resignation as Chief Executive of the Ghana Cocoa Board, effective January 7, 2025,” his letter said.”
