Fifty suspects have been arrested in connection with the violent incidents that occurred in Nkwanta, Oti Region.
The arrest occurred as a result of an operation carried out on Tuesday morning in Shiare, Oti Region.
The suspects will be screened before they are arraigned.
In a media interview, Oti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Alex Acquah, revealed that the renewed conflict has claimed six lives, injured ten others, and destroyed twelve houses and a shop.
DCOP Osman Abdul Razak, the national security coordinator, expressed concern about the country’s ongoing chieftaincy and land disputes.
He advocated for increased collaboration among security agencies to address these challenges.
Major General Bismarck Kwasi Onwona, the Chief of Army Staff, praised the security agencies’ current collaboration.
He asserts that the cooperative strategy is essential to promoting regional peace and stability.
