The Ho office of the governing New Patriotic Party (NDC) has been vandalised and set ablaze by unidentified individuals.
Several pieces of equipment, including computers, fans, photocopiers, and crucial documents, were destroyed.
Personnel from the fire service were deployed to the scene to extinguish the fire and prevent further damage.
It remains unclear what caused the incident; however, details emerging suggest that those who allegedly set the office ablaze did so because a representative from Ho Central was not considered in the ministerial appointments.
Residents in the area are said to be infuriated over the matter.
In a related development, some residents from Bole Bamboi have also expressed disappointment in the appointments made so far.
The MP for the area, Yusif Sulemana, has appealed to the youth and residents of the area to remain calm and refrain from any acts of violence in his name.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, January 21, Sulemana said, “I kindly appeal to the youth and people of Bole/Bamboi to remain calm and refrain from any form of agitation in my name,” Sulemana stated. “As a loyal and devoted brother of H.E. John Dramani Mahama and a firm believer in his wisdom and experience, I wholeheartedly support his decisions.”
“Please, do not take the law into your own hands or engage in actions that could bring embarrassment to us all,” he added.
