Ali Adolf G. John, the Northern Region Minister-Designate, promised to launch initiatives to address the long-standing issue of alleged witches being abused and ostracised in some communities.
Speaking during his vetting on Thursday, January 23, 2025, Adolf lamented how individuals accused of witchcraft are abused, humiliated, and in some cases banished or physically harmed.
He has therefore promised to work in collaboration with traditional leaders to protect accused individuals and facilitate their reintegration into society.
“Most of the aged are often accused of witchcraft and some of the footage is horrific so I will do everything possible with the traditional leaders to handle this issue.
“We need the intervention of the traditional rulers to help us help these people to reintegrate them back into society.”
