Socio-political analyst Nana Piesie Anto has slammed the Appointments Committee of Parliament over what he described as poor performance.
He believes the committee has not lived up to the expectations of what they were appointed to do.
He stated that the vetting processes have failed to live up to expectations and has admonished them to do better.
The analyst said some of the questions asked are needless or useless.
He particularly took on members from the side of the minority in Parliament.
He accused them of using the vetting processes to settle personal scores.
Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he advised the committee to ask relevant questions that can bring out the best in the nominees.
“The Appointments Committee has failed in its duties. The performance of the committee has not been the best. Some of the questions are needless or useless. The nominees are brought to the committee to be tested on issues related to the sectors they have been nominated for. The minority caucus on the committee wants to use the vetting to settle scores, which is very unnecessary.”
He stated that the committee must sit up and do things better to ensure that those nominated are vetted in a manner that will ensure that they are up for the job they would be doing.
