President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Abraham Amaliba, the Director of Conflict Resolution for the National Democratic Congress, as the Acting Director-General of the National Road Safety Authority.
His appointment was contained in a letter issued and signed by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Executive Secretary to President John Dramani Mahama.
The letter said the appointment takes effect January 23, 2025.
It was made in accordance with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 13(2) of the National Road Safety Authority Act, 2019 (Act 993), pending the receipt of the constitutionally required advice from the governing Board of the Authority, given in consultation with the Public Services Commission.
The private legal practitioner has been formally notified of his appointment and has been requested to indicate his acceptance within 14 days.
The President extended his best wishes to Mr. Amaliba and congratulated him on his new role.
