The Office of the President has granted approval for the management of senior high schools to procure essential food items needed to feed students.
The approval granted will cover a period of two (2) weeks (20th January–3rd February,
2025).
This was contained in a statement issued by the Ghana Education Service.
The interim measure, according to the statement, is to improve the feeding situation in the various public second-cycle institutions.
It was further revealed that disbursement based on student enrolment and approved cost of feeding each student per day has been made to the schools.
The schools are to utilise these funds to procure essential food items available in their localities for the two weeks.
The approved rate is Seven Cedis Fifty Pesewas (c7.50) and Three Cedis (¢3.00) for boarding and day students, respectively.
The heads of the various schools have been asked to strictly follow these guidelines to ensure successful implementation.
